Building Confidence
I have worked in the Special Education field since 2004, at the same time as being a high-level competitive boxer for 15 years, representing Canada on the international stage and competed at the 2016 Canadian Olympic Trials. I earned my position and was scheduled to compete at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, unfortunately the world pandemic changed the plans and I did not have an opportunity to compete. Despite this adversity I focussed and channelled my energy into creating a Special Needs Boxing program. I have been blessed to put my two specialities together to create the Fierce N Fit Special Needs Charitable Organization.
This is a safe space for individuals who have different abilities to come and learn the sport of boxing in an inclusive, welcoming environment. This program not only gives our special-needs community a place to feel included but we offer volunteer opportunities to those looking to gain experience working with people, improve self-confidence, leadership, skills and become part of a team.
