ABOUT

Who We Are

Fierce N Fit Special Needs Charitable Organization is a Registered Charity that uses the sport of boxing and physical exercise to improve the physical, psychological, emotional and spiritual lives of those with special needs.

Our program is inclusive and is designed to serve the needs of our clients regardless of physical or cognitive ability. We work with individuals with Down Syndrome, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Fetal Alcohol Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, Traumatic Brain Injury, physical disabilities and other learning and cognitive disorders.

WHY ARE WE UNIQUE?

We are more than a Boxing workout program. We are a Community. We run a variety of social activities and events to help promote socialization and build connections. Our Boxing programs are non-contact, we meet the diverse physical and cognitive needs of our clients. At the same time, we provide a great physical workout that helps with the overall health and wellbeing of our clients. We offer both in person and virtual training. The workouts are designed to get your body moving and blood flowing to improve digestion and circulation. Boxing encourages your mind and muscles to work together in synchrony.

All of our Trainers/Coaches are NCCP Certified in Coaching Athletes with a Disability. Our coaches specialize in Special Education and are certified Boxing trainers. Volunteer coaches are trained to work with those who require physical and cognitive accommodation. At Fierce N Fit Boxing we specialize in creating an environment that empowers athletes from all walks of life. We provide A Place for All.  This philosophical statement is the most important part of our Non-Contact Boxing Program.  All of our team members having varying abilities but we pride ourselves on lifting each other up during our training sessions.  We measure our accomplishments based on how we progress as a group and not as individuals.  Our team members encourage each other during training sessions and none of our athletes feel judged. They enjoy training in a safe environment that uses positive energy to uplift everyone involved.

Disability impacts the lives of many Ontarians, and the numbers of people with disabilities is increasing as the population ages. Today, over 15% of Ontario's population has a disability. That's one in seven people. Our society requires programs like Fierce N Fit Boxing to help improve access to physical exercise for all.

Fierce N Fitness Boxing has been an incredible boost to our daughter Brittany’s motivation, fitness and sense of belonging. Every session infuses her with positive energy and enthusiasm ~ she loves to encourage others with a “Let’s Do This!” Taveena is a world class talent and brilliant coach. She is a natural at making everyone feel inspired, confident and part of something special. We highly recommend Taveena and her team at Fierce N Fitness Boxing. Randy, Tracy and Brittany Franks.

Our daughter is part of the Fierce ‘n Fit Special Needs boxing program. She LOVES the program! Coach Taveena is an amazing coach and a great person. She is so generous with her time and attention. The participants learn boxing, fitness and social skills.

During the COVID lockdown the program is available on-line and is an important physical and social outlet for the community. Kudos to Taveena and the other coaches!! You are amazing!

My daughter has just started boxing with this amazing group of people! She absolutely loves it and I love the community vibe that we feel!!

Last night she came home and said "mom, I'm exhausted" which is exactly what I love to hear 😂

She got to participate in a zoom movie night and is starting to learn to build relationships with peers that I feel can last a lifetime!

This is a great group to have in our community!!
